Buccal massage at Medisue Aesthetics

What is buccal massage?

The Helena Pahava manual facelift is a deep massage of the face, neck and décolleté. What makes it different: part of the work is done inside the mouth, wearing gloves, to reach the cheek and jaw muscles directly.

These muscles, like the masseter, tighten with stress, chewing or clenching. Releasing them relaxes the face, restores symmetry and makes it look more rested and firm.

Benefits

  • Releases tension in the tendons around the face.
  • Stretches tight muscles in the face and neck.
  • Releases tension in the chewing muscle.
  • Wakes up sleepy muscles and repositions sagging ones in the neck, chest and face.
  • Boosts blood circulation and oxygen supply to the neck and face.
  • Helps rid soft tissues of fibrosis and toxins.

Who is it for?

  • A tired, tense or dull-looking face
  • A tight jaw, clenching or grinding
  • Loss of tone in the jawline, cheeks or neck
  • Wanting a natural option without injections
  • Getting ready for a special event
  • A complement to facials and Endermology

How it works

  1. Conversation

We talk about your tension, habits and expectations, and check for contraindications.

  2. Neck and décolleté

The massage starts by releasing the neck, shoulders and décolleté to prepare the face.

  3. Face

Pressure, stretching and deep sculpting work the muscles and tissues of the face.

  4. Intra-oral work

Wearing medical gloves, the cheek and jaw muscles are released from the inside.

After the massage

  • Your face may look slightly flushed for a few hours.
  • Your jaw may feel a little tender, like after a workout, for a day.
  • Drink water and skip makeup for the rest of the day.

Precautions

The treatment is postponed if you have an infection or sore in the mouth, recent dental or facial surgery, or recent injections (botulinum toxin, fillers). If you have a jaw joint problem, talk to your health professional first.

Frequently asked questions

Is the massage inside the mouth uncomfortable?

It feels unusual the first time, but it is rarely unpleasant. The pressure is adjusted throughout and you can ask for a pause at any time.

Does it replace injections?

It’s a different, natural approach: it relaxes and tones the muscles rather than freezing them or adding volume. Many clients choose it for exactly that reason.

How long do the effects last?

The relaxing, brightening effect shows right away. With a series of sessions and regular maintenance, the toning results last longer.
